They won’t get it, they just won’t get it; why you’ve tied a scarlet thread at your window post, why you almost go paranoid when someone attempts to even touch it.
They won’t get it.
Why you treasure this seemingly invaluable thread so.
They have no idea the secret pacts you had to cut with the LORD to secure this cord, they have no clue that your life and that of all those in your house depend on it.
They will judge.
They will scorn.
They will insult.
They will say, “but it’s just a thread!”
Yet know, always know, forbid your memory to not forget, command your heart to always know, that without that thread at your window post, your very life is forfeit – without the thread, you won’t escape the impending inevitable dread.
How on Earth would a mere thread pulled out of cheap fabric save you from utter doom?
They should just wait until Jericho’s walls fall, until all their means of fortitude are lost.
They should just wait till all they pride in goes down and becomes rubble, then they’ll finally understand, that the thread you treasured and held so dear, was a life saving chip they ought to have wished to have near.
Do not fear the falling of the city walls, for when all hell breaks loose and everything around you descends into utter chaos, you will still have that reassuring scarlet thread; that thread of promise, that thread of hope – and you’ll know that you’ll be safe, that you’ll be very okay.
