Stay Safe … Still Pray

The worst possible way to approach any situation is to do so without a clear head.
That is my problem with the reaction of fear and panic the pandemic of COVID-19 has caused.
I am so not against taking precautionary measures to limit the rate of spread of this virus, but I know for sure that pressing and holding the panic button won’t do the trick for us.
Yes, the virus is dangerous. Yes, I do not in any way desire to contract this virus, but then, viral infections affect people irrespective of the fear in their hearts.

This post, my dear friend, is to address this fear you have so much allowed to grip and cripple you. Covid-19 will still be Covid-19, whether you live like today can be your last on Earth or not.
Your reaction of fear won’t stop the pandemic, it will increase your blood pressure!

I am a Christian, and unapologetically so, I pray about every situation pertaining to my life, why on God’s green Earth won’t I pray about an outbreak such as Covid-19?

I have observed how the lot react to, with utter disdain, social media posts concerning praying against this pandemic, and I must say I’m not really surprised.
My faith as a Christian has always been under attack, way before this virus popped its ugly head, but then, I still remain a firm believer who will always announce in the ears of all those I can reach, that, “PRAYER INDEED WORKS”, and I would rather you live in FAITH than in FEAR.

Like you, I will wash my hands, avoid handshakes and comply to all the precautionary measures outlined by WHO, our government and other health organizations on the frontlines of combatting this pandemic, BUT, I will still pray, and I will always entreat you to do so too.

You see, the problem isn’t against people praying, it is the disgust that creeps into men’s hearts when they see others clinging on to a hope so strong, a hope they can’t seem to find for themselves.

Whether you believe it or not, God has a say in our lives, and so I urge you to talk to Him about yours.
Apply hand sanitizers, and pray to God to cleanse your heart.
Wash your hands with soap under running water, and ask God to still your fears with the move of His Spirit.
Avoid handshakes and public places, and while you are all by yourself, pray that God heals our world.

Pray for the scientists and doctors to find the antidote we are all anticipating. Praying won’t slow down their work pace, praying won’t make Covid-19 wipe out the human race.

Always remember, it is better to approach every situation with a clear head, pray to have peace of heart and mind to stay safe in this time when even hearing someone cough can trigger trauma. ‘
Pray for your family, pray for your loved ones, pray for your nation, pray for our world.

I prayed today before stepping out to work, and I’m going to be careful out there – I suggest you do same.
